Your control: AI features run when you use them (for example, when you request captions, search, or suggestions).

Model training

We do not use Customer Content to train general-purpose AI models. We may use de-identified or aggregated usage data (like feature usage counts, latency, and crash metrics) to improve the Service.

6. How we share information

We share information only as needed:

With service providers

We use vendors to host infrastructure and provide supporting services. They are permitted to process data only to provide services to us.

With collaborators you invite

If you share a project or workspace, collaborators may access the Customer Content and project data you choose to share.

For legal and safety reasons

We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Cardboard, our users, or others.

Business transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

With your consent

If you ask us to share data with a third party, we will do so.

We do not sell your personal information.

7. Data retention

We keep information only as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business purposes.

  • Account data: retained while your account is active
  • Customer Content: retained while you keep it in the Service, plus a limited period for backups and recovery
  • Logs and telemetry: retained for security, debugging, and performance purposes

8. Security

We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information (for example, access controls and encryption in transit). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

9. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

  • access or update your account information
  • request deletion of your account and Customer Content
  • opt out of marketing emails (you will still receive important service notices)
  • control cookies through your browser settings
